Privacy Policy
Forty.5 Ventures · Last updated: 4th October 2026
This policy explains how Forty.5 Ventures ("Forty.5", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit forty5vc.com, submit a pitch, or interact with us as a founder, applicant or contact. It applies to our venture capital activity (F5V Capital) and our venture studio (F5V Studio, including the Unlock programme).
1. Who we are
The controller of your personal information is Forty.5 Capital Ventures LLC, 14040 Panay Way #219, Marina del Rey, CA 90292 . For any privacy question or request, contact us at pr@forty5vc.com.
2. What we collect
When you submit a pitch, we collect the information you give us in the form and in your materials:
- your name, email address and, if you provide them, LinkedIn profiles of the founding team;
- information about your company: name, website, sector, stage, country where the founders were based when the company started, current headquarters, round size, instrument and revenue;
- whether a woman founder or CEO holds 20% or more of the equity (you can choose "prefer not to say");
- your pitch deck and any updated decks you send later;
- how you heard about us.
When you communicate with us, we keep the emails and messages you send, and notes from calls and meetings with you.
When you visit our website, we collect limited technical information needed to run and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit.
We may also receive information about you from people who introduce you to us, such as our venture partners, and from public sources such as your company website or professional profiles.
3. How we use it
- To assess your company for investment or for F5V Studio, against our published investment criteria.
- To reply to you, ask follow-up questions, arrange meetings and keep you informed about your application.
- To consider your company again later, for example if we invite you to send an updated deck or place your company on our Studio watchlist and review it again after a few months.
- To manage our fund, including reporting on the regions, sectors and diversity of the companies we invest in, in aggregated form.
- To keep our systems secure and prevent spam and misuse.
- To meet legal obligations, such as record keeping and responding to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. How we use AI
We use AI tools to help us review pitches. When you submit a deck, it may be analysed by an AI model provided by Anthropic (Claude), which summarises the deck and compares it with our investment criteria. This helps us answer every pitch quickly and consistently.
- Every decision is made by our team. AI output is a first read that our team reviews; no investment decision about you is made solely by automated means.
- Under our agreement with our AI provider, the content we send is not used to train AI models.
- If you would prefer that your pitch is reviewed without AI assistance, tell us at pr@forty5vc.com before or after submitting.
5. Legal bases (EU, UK and similar laws)
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:
- your consent, which you give when you submit a pitch and which you can withdraw at any time;
- our legitimate interests in finding, assessing and supporting companies to invest in, running our fund and keeping our systems secure, balanced against your rights;
- steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement with you, such as an investment or a Studio programme;
- legal obligations that apply to us.
6. Who we share it with
Your information is available to the Forty.5 team and our venture partners who are involved in assessing companies. Team members with a conflict of interest are excluded from your company's information. We also use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- cloud hosting and database services that run our deal platform, provided by Lovable;
- email delivery services used to send you confirmations and replies;
- Anthropic, for AI-assisted review (see section 4);
- Google Workspace, for email and documents.
We may share information with co-investors or partners only with your knowledge, for example when you ask us to introduce you. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
7. International transfers
Forty.5 operates in the United States, Southeastern Europe and Asia-Pacific, and some of our service providers are based in the United States. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country. Where required, we protect these transfers with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- Pitches we don't pursue: up to 18 months after our decision, so we can recognise you if you pitch again and review updated materials. After that we delete them or keep only anonymised statistics.
- Companies on our Studio watchlist: while they remain on the watchlist, and then as above.
- Companies we invest in or work with: for as long as the relationship lasts and as long as required afterwards for legal, tax and fund-reporting purposes.
- Website technical data: up to 12 months
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before;
- ask for human review of any AI-assisted assessment;
- complain to a data protection authority in your country.
To exercise any of these rights, email pr@forty5vc.com. We will reply within one month. If you live in California, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and to ask us to delete it; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
10. Security
We protect your information with access controls by role, conflict-of-interest restrictions, encryption in transit, audit logs of important actions, and regular security checks of our platform. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information you entrust to us.
11. Children
Our services are intended for founders and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
